Ableton Live 8.1.3

The boys over at Ableton have been busy updating Live to 8.1.3. It looks like it’s still in beta stage but should fix bugs and problems in 8.1. Head over to this thread at the Ableton Forums to check it out.

Logic 9.0.1 & 9.0.2

Apple have anouced an update to Logic 9, well actually two but 9.0.1 first. The most important update is in conjunction with Novation and sees full intergration between logic and automap. Logic users will have been waiting for a while for these compatability issues to be ironed out.

Main features in 9.0.1

• Latency compansation for for I/O plugin
• Flex markers can now snap to midi notes in other tracks
• Apogee’s UV-22 dithering algorithm now availible when bouncing down
• Novation automap is now supported

The 9.0.2 update mainly fixs bugs that appeared with 9.0.1 and adds a few other work flow tweaks and tunings.

Automap 3.2

Novation have updated there excellent automap software to version 3.2. Some of the new features include…

• Full support for Reason and Record
• Control range editing (restricting the range a controller will operate on)
• Normal, momentary, toggle and step button types added
• Support for iphone and ipod touch automap
• Plugin manager updated
• Scroll through settings with keyboard arrows
• Improved full reset for hardware
• Home page icon added to edit window
• QWERTY keyboard shortcuts (Pro version only)

Theres some important features included in the update, my favourite being the new button types (going to have some fun with the momentary type) and the control range editing could be very useful.

It was also anounced that logic pro’s update to 9.0.1 would inlcude full intergration between logic, automap and Novation hardware.
